Youth Muay Thai

When it comes to martial arts, learning sooner than later is better. These classes will introduce Muay Thai to your child in a safe and exciting environment. Muay Thai will help teach your child self-discipline, give confidence and help them focus, all while building a positive attitude and respect for others. There will be very limited contact with others (except with the trainer) unless agreed upon by the child, the parent and the coach after evaluation. We will start the class with some stretching and a warmup, followed by drills that incorporate punches, kicks, elbows, and knees by using a number system that the child will learn. Your child will also learn defensive techniques such as blocking and head movement. Some portion of the classes will require the child to partner with another classmate.

*Eligible ages are between 7-12 years old. After age 12, the student would advance to Muay Thai or Advanced Striking, depending on their progress. Each child will be assigned a specific armband (Pra Jiad) based on the rank they are assigned; this will help track their progress. The child will be able to rank up after a scheduled test that is roughly an hour long.

It will start with stretching, a warmup with shadowboxing and gradually increase in intensity. The trainer will help improve your technique but also will make sure you are getting a great workout. This class will give you a nice sweat and strengthen your core by combining basic boxing fundamentals with cardio/strength & conditioning all while having fun in the process. Some workouts might require you to partner with someone, but these classes focus heavily on individual cardio with the possibility of some light weights incorporated into the workout. Rounds could be anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes through HIIT and technical training with a short rest in between rounds. Classes will end with core exercises followed by stretching. This class will improve hand-eye coordination, will decrease stress, and will improve your overall body composition.

Muay Thai

This class is an introduction to the “Art of 8 Limbs”, and the words “Muay Thai” translate to “Thai boxing”. There will be good portion of conditioning and cardio. This class is perfect for anyone ages 13 and up looking to get in great shape while learning self-defense, respect, and physical and mental wellbeing. Ego’s ABSOLUTELY MUST be checked at the door, because everyone here is learning this beautiful sport and having fun in the process. In most classes you can expect to be walked through combos using a number system you will learn and punch/kick Thai pads. Muay Thai incorporates stretches, bodyweight/cardio intensive conditioning, demonstration/application of stance + proper technique, and punching/kicking Thai pads. The sessions will be structured around either working with a partner/pad holder or a heavy bag including footwork drills. Because there is typically no ranking system like other martial arts, advancing in this sport is mostly based off experience.

Advanced Striking

This class is invite only and will incorporate fundamental techniques from Muay Thai, boxing, mma and Dutch style kickboxing with more contact drills and possibly some light sparring. It is heavy on conditioning, cardio, and technical drills with the use of weights, heavy bags, a pad holder and tools to improve footwork. Everything learned from the intro level classes will be applied but will incorporate these core techniques together in combos. This is also the program you will need to be involved in if you decide to join our competition team. By the time you reach this level though, it should go without saying that these training sessions are not for those that want to beat on each other. In fact, intentionally trying to hurt someone during these sessions will most likely get you booted out. We fully promote a family friendly environment where you can sharpen your craft and not get hurt.

*For those that would like to join our competition team, it is required that you train with our team for at least 6 months and 4-5 days a week consistently. Training camp is typically 6-8 weeks (sometimes two hours a day). Your coaches will also determine whether you are ready to even start training camp and reserve the right to pull you from training camp if they feel that safety is an issue.

BJJ

These classes will teach you basic to advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling movements and includes exercises and drills designed to improve the person’s ground game. Whether you are a beginner learning for the first time or experienced in grappling, you will enjoy this program.

BJJ (Beginner)
